Candra’s NAHA submission

THIS is so many things to me! This year was my first time to participate in the NAHA (North American Hairdressing Awards). I am very proud of the outcome of my vision, “Mermaid Maiden.”  I entered under the “texture” category. As you can see my Team and I tried to create as much texture with the: braids, whispy curls, glittered roots and brows, long lashes and pirate-like metal jewelry.  The model in this photo is one of my longest friendships, Candra. Her and I have been besties since we started Kindergarten together. She was an excellent sport throughout the whole process…this shoot ended up taking us all day long. In fact, the images captured were the last look we did.  It was a fun day to see this “Mermaid” vision come to life… our first few images from the shoot were colorful, light and had an iridescent look.  As it progressed it slowly got darker, more mystical, and elegant. I am so proud of everyone involved in this creative process.
